Summary of Defect:

Clarify SV8 text on CRL processing to remove ambiguity about which certificate serial number is checked against the CRL.

Assigned SME:  Sub-Volume VIII SME

Proposed SARPs amendment:

1/ 8.4.5.2: Replace the note below clause 8.4.5.2 with:

"Note - ATN entities check that certificates issued by an issuing CA to a subject have not been revoked by performing the following checks:"

2/ 8.4.5.2.8: Replace "issuing CA's" with "subject's" so that the clause reads: 

"8.4.5.2.8  The ATN entity shall check that the subject's certificate is not revoked by checking that the certificate's serial number does not appear in the list of revoked certificates' serial numbers in the revokedCertificates field."

Impact on interoperability: None.

Validation status:  Thorough inspection should be sufficient.
